CARE AND USE

Whether you are familiar with natural skincare products or are using them for the first time, please take special care to ensure that your products stay fresh as long as possible.

Many Oil + Water products are oil-based or sold dry so that they don't require chemical preservatives, but this means they must stay completely water-free. Always use a clean, dry utensil if scooping products out of a jar, taking care to ensure that no moisture is introduced into the container. In between uses, store all products in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light. And of course, never dilute any products with water.

As with any new product, always perform a patch test before use. Many of our products contain nut oils and/or butters and some may contain soy. If pregnant or nursing, please consult your physician before using any Oil + Water products that contain essential oils.

Because our products are all natural, it's normal for there to be a change in their consistency or appearance if they have been traveling in very hot or cold weather. For example, our balms may become soft in high temperatures, and our liquid oils may become cloudy in low temperatures. If your shipment has been traveling in extreme heat or cold, we recommend unpacking your products and letting them sit at room temperature for at least an hour before use to allow them to return to their intended consistency. Don't worry - this will not affect their performace in any way!
